The Opening Ceremony held on November 26, 2025, gathered over 1,000 delegates at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1, including 321 competitors from 20 member countries and 11 guest countries.

WorldSkills Asia Founder and CEO Dr. Mubarak Al Shamsi officially opened the competition, urging everyone to celebrate excellence, collaboration, and the spirit of skills development.


Guest of honor Taiwan President Lai Ching-Te emphasized that despite rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and mass production, the human touch remains irreplaceable. He reaffirmed Taiwan’s commitment to investing in vocational education to cultivate skilled professionals, recognizing that skills are the foundation of national competitiveness.
The Philippines fielded six skilled youths to compete in five skill areas: Cooking – Agee Docayso (Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education or CSITE); Electrical Installations – James Cavin T. Sayago (Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges); Graphic Design Technology – Hannah Krystelle A. Caintic (Regional Training Center-NCR); Mechatronics – Roneil M. Arriesgado and Abraham S. Badar (Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology); and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning – Denmark Abuyog (Balicuatro College of Arts and Trades)
The event also featured an energetic wushu exhibition and a vibrant cultural performance that showcased Taiwan’s rich heritage.
Now on its 3rd edition, this is the biggest WorldSkills Asia Competition, with 38 skill areas—a remarkable growth from 17 during its inception in 2018 and 21 in 2023.
This year’s theme, “Hands On, Future On,” highlights the power of skilled youth to shape a more innovative, sustainable, and human-centered future.
